Description Casting "Sophisticated Ladies," based on the music of Duke Ellington. The production will star Maurice Hines. Rehearsals begin March 9, 2010; runs April 9-May 30.
Ensemble: all ages and ethnicities, multi-ethnic cast sought, dancers who sing and singers who dance, strong tap and jazz dance skills a must, experience/familiarity with jitterbug, munch (African traditional dance style), ballet, and rock-and-rhythm a plus, all must be triple-threat performers and have great charm and personality, strong singing ability required.
Equity chorus call will be held Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. (female singers who dance) & 2 p.m. (male singers who dance) and Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. (male dancers who sing) & 2 p.m. (female dancers who sing). Singers should prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of Duke Ellington or "American Songbook" standards. No pop inflections or contemporary material. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.Dancers should be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. Bring tap shoes and jazz shoes. No singing for dancers at this call. Ardenti Films is looking for talented hip hop and rap artists who would like to submit some powerful music for Mr Olympia Dexter Jackson's new DVD filmed this month.
Full credit to artists and their website on the DVD and on the IMDB.com page once released in December 2009.
This is for IMDB credit primarily but willing to pay a token $20 per track used in final DVD. 25 (twentyfive) 2 to 5 minute tracks needed in total . Music will be used throughout workout sequences and intro, possibly trailers also.

I shot a short film this summer and I'm almost done with the editing. I wanted a good original soundtrack and I'm looking for a young talented composer.
My film is more like a trailer of a few minutes. It's a serial killer story. I'm gonna shoot a 20 minutes film on the same story next summer and I will definitely offer you the job next time. I have not a huge budget so I can't pay you this time but I definitely will next time. I love Philip Glass work so if you are familiar with his work it would be great.
