Description: Casting "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". Rehearsals begin Dec. 21; runs Jan.-Feb. 21, 2010. Milly: 25-35, mezzo, spunky, independent woman, marries Adam and promptly takes over his role as "man of the house," strong actress and singer, must be attractive; Adam: 30-40, baritone, bull-headed, rugged countryman but earnest bachelor, strong actor and singer with excellent comic timing, tall, handsome, virile; Gideon: male, mid 20s, tenor, the youngest Pontipee, earnest and naïve, strong actor and dancer; Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frank: 20-35, Pontipee brothers, excellent dancers with strong voices, must be physically fit and masculine, some performers will appear shirtless in a few scenes, aerials and gymnastics a plus; Alice, Dorcas, Ruth, Liza, Martha, Sarah: 20-35, Pontipee brides, excellent dancers with strong voices; Jeb, Carl, Luke, Matt, Joel, Zeke: 20-35, rival suitors, excellent dancers with strong voices; Ensemble: of various ages, to play Preacher, Lumberman, Mr. Bixby, Mrs. Bixby, Mr. Perkins, Mrs. Perkins, Townsboys, Townsgirls.
