New Disney Channel scripted series pilot "Smart Alec" Casting Information.

Disney Channel and It's a Laugh Productions are teaming up again for a new series pilot epidode of the show "Smart Alec". The producers are hoping to find the next big Disney Channel Starlet. Shooting starts mid-November, 2009.

Story:
A geeky teenager blossoms over the summer and now that she fits in with the popular crowd she tries to convince them that being smart isn't bad while trying to convince the geeks that you being pretty doesn't make you stupid.

The casting directors are currently casting the following series lead-

Alecia "Alec" Micheals: Teen Female who can play 8th - 9th grade age range (13 to 15 years old). Must be able to go from typical geek, braces, glasses, bad hair style, to beautiful "in-crowd" type.

Several other roles are also being cast both male and female students, as well as teachers and extras.
